Our team combines coordination capability, integrated vision, and technical knowledge, complemented by a network of specialists tailored to the scale, complexity, and nature of each intervention.
João Lourenço
Architect & Founder
João Lourenço is an architect, project manager and founder of COLUNA. His practice brings together architecture, technical coordination, integrated project management and asset assessment, supporting each project from strategic definition and team organisation through to delivery.
With experience in refurbishment, hospitality, residential developments and technically complex projects, he is recognised for his ability to coordinate multiple disciplines, structure processes and translate complex information into clear, well-founded decisions. In leading projects, he values technical rigour, accountability, transparent communication and the development of trusted relationships between clients, design teams and contractors.
He is an Associate Member of RICS, working within the field of Building Surveying, a member of the Project Management Institute, and holds the buildingSMART Professional Certification – Foundation. His professional development reflects an ongoing commitment to project management and to the application of BIM as a collaborative approach to the production, organisation and management of information, enabling clearer, more integrated and more efficient project delivery.

Architect & Civil Engineer
Luís de Freitas is a civil engineer, architect and founder of COLUNA. His practice brings together engineering, technical coordination, building surveying and asset analysis, supporting projects across different scales and contexts, from the technical definition and organization of specialist disciplines through to implementation and on-site validation.
Throughout his career, he has worked in engineering coordination, construction supervision, technical decision support and the critical assessment of buildings at different stages of their lifecycle. He stands out for his ability to identify constraints, structure technical responses and turn complex information into clear, viable solutions tailored to the context of each intervention.
He is an Associate Member of RICS in the field of Building Control and holds the buildingSMART Professional Certification – Foundation. His academic background in Architecture and Civil Engineering, complemented by specialization in acoustics, management and real estate valuation, supports an integrated, analytical approach focused on technical control, risk mitigation and asset value.
